The Mangawhai Easter Hop Classic Car and Bike show was held at the Domain on Sunday 17 April 2022. This event was organised by the Mangawhai Muscle Car club and the MDS Fundraising team in 3.5 weeks.

A count of 570 cars and nearly 100 bikes attended for display on the day. Estimated visitors at 2000 people.

The Easter bunny was in attendance along with some food trucks, ice cream and coffee vendors. Live music played all day. The Ladies fashion show was a great success. Bouncy castles were provided for children’s entertainment.

There were around 50 volunteers on the day from the MDS Committee, MDS Society, Muscle Car Club, Mangawhai Shed, Sustainable Kaipara, MFC and MHVSLS. Their efforts are greatly appreciated, as were the local sponsorships.

Overall, this fun event was a successful fundraising event with the proceeds going 50/50 split to the Mangawhai Domain and the Mangawhai Surf Life Saving Club.

The Mangawhai Easter Hop is set to become an annual event at the Mangawhai Domain.
