The Domain is used by many individuals for a variety of purposes.
The Domain at 73 Moir Street, abuts The Mangawhai-Kaiwaka Road, residential subdivision, the residential Mangawhai Park and the upper reaches of the estuary. The area of the Domain is 7 hectares.
The Mangawhai Domain provides a community space for sports and recreation, events, tennis courts, playground, walkways, big open green spaces, dog friendly environment.
The Domain is a valuable Community owned asset. The Mangawhai Domain Society Committee is committed to making sure that the premises and grounds are well managed.
It is also a goal to involve as many members of the Community in the active use and membership of the facility. Please see membership
The grounds have gone through a lot of changes and from around 2005 a decision was made to embark on a programme of landscape development focused on appropriate boundary screen planting and removing weeds (including wattles etc) alongside the estuary. Planting has encouraged wildlife and integration of the natural landscape. Ongoing enhancement of the Domain grounds is a priority.
